Before You Start

Before proceeding with completing the form below, please check that you have the following forms downloaded, printed and you can either scan of take a photo of the completed forms.




As part of your application, the following will be required:

  1. Anti-Doping Seminar attendance Cert (Newcomers in 2025 are required to attend a seminar, 2025 Renewals please submit Anti Doping cert from 2024)
  2. Flag Seminar document - you will need to declare that you have read and understood the Flag Seminar document
  3. Club membership verification - we need to verify that you are a member of an affiliated club. As part of the application form, you will need to upload a copy of your current Club Membership Certificate OR your current club membership number. This must be valid for the current year.
  4. Newcomers will require a medical form that must be signed and stamped by your doctor, which you can upload as a scan/photo.
  5. Newcomers will require a completed assessment certificate.

Info about medical declarations and stamped certificates

ALL LICENCE HOLDERS need to submit their medical declaration (top half of the medical form linked on this page) with every licence application.

A LICENCE APPLICATIONS: "A" licence holders will need a stamped medical certificate every three years.

B LICENCE APPLICATIONS: "B" licence holders will need a stamped medical certificate every three years.

C LICENCE APPLICATIONS: "C" licence holders will need a stamped medical certificate every three years.

      Newcomer Application

      Please note that as this is your first licence, you will need to participate in an assessment supervised by Motor Cycling Ireland.

      You will be emailed details about how and where to take part in this assessment once your form is successfully approved.

      To be eligible for a full race licence, you must first be assessed by a Club Of Motorcycling Ireland (MCI). Contact your club for nearest Assessment day.

      A Participants Pass is required to attend an Assessment/Practice Day.

      A refundable Participants Pass may be purchased under Online Forms on this site.

      REMEMBER: You can only continue with your application for a C or D licence if you have already completed your rider assessment, and you have your Club-stamped and signed Riders Assessment Form ready to upload before clicking next.

        All applicants are required to upload a recent passport photo.

        If you are on a smartphone, you should get the option to take a selfie when you click below (this depends on the device) - a selfie headshot can be accepted but please ensure its clear, properly lit and against a plain background.

              Declaration regarding club membership(Required)

              Medical Certificate

              In this section you will need to send us a scan/photo of your medical certificate. If you don't already have this to hand, you can download it below. There are two sections to be completed:

              1. The Medical Certificate section (top half of document) must be completed by ALL applicants.

              2. For newcomers or renewals who do not have a current medical (i.e. 2023 or 2024), the bottom half of the document (the Mandatory Medical Examination) must be signed and stamped by your doctor.
