Following from numerous meetings over the last week, the Board of Motorcycling Ireland have agreed on the following licence fees for the 2024 season:

Competition

€150 adult licence

€50 junior off-road licence

€50 MX & Trial & Enduro practice only

Each licence holder will automatically be entitled to an all new MCI Associated Members card, worth €50. More details of which can be found below.

All licence forms are currently being tested online, and are estimated to be ready to launch within the next week along with details on flag seminars, medicals and anti-doping.

*Important*

We as a board have had lengthy discussions regarding the costs of licences & permits for the year. Collectively, we have come to the agreement on the above costs. We understand that the sport can be expensive and instead of forcing even more costs on competitors, we have kept the fees as low as financially possible, in the hope that when our fundraising efforts are launched in the coming weeks we will have the full support of our competitors, participants, clubs, supporters, family and friends.

All disciplines are in this together, united under Motorcycling Ireland. To make this work, we need to work together. If ever there was a time for the community to back itself, it’s now.

We will be hosting a General Assembly on Saturday 10th February. Location and time TBC. All clubs and members are invited to attend, and we will endeavour to answer any and all questions you may have on the day.

Associate Members Card:

The all new associate members card is designed to give back to the community while raising funds in the process. It is included free of charge with all licences (with the exception of Vintage & Veteran and Touring who may receive one with an additional add-on to their licence fee), and is available for €50 for all non-licence holders if they wish to support the centre in its insurance efforts.

Key benefits:

  • Up to 10% off selected products in various partner stores (List TBA).
    • Raises money that will go directly into the insurance fund.
    • Competitors get discounts on parts, accessories etc.
    • Return on investment rather than just handing out money to a GoFundMe or similar.
    • More benefits each week as more partners sign up.

Further details of the associate members card will be available online shortly.

If you or someone you know has a company or service who would like to offer a discount to associate member card holders, please email the details to pro@motorcyclingireland.ie. The more partners that sign up for this the better it will be for everyone involved.

Fundraising:

The fundraising committee have met and discussed options on three key fundraising ideas. We are confident these ideas will go a long way towards covering the cost of the insurance, and thank you for your patience while we seek advice in the best way to proceed. As we are dealing with very large sums, we need to make sure that we are following the correct guidelines and procedures, and do not want to announce further efforts before the ideas are ready to launch. We are hopeful that we can announce details of these within the next two weeks.

Further details to follow.

Yours in Sport

The Board of Motorcycling Ireland.
