Last night, 7 May 2026, the board of Motorcycling Ireland held its monthly meeting to review progress across all disciplines of the sport throughout the year.

Overall, things are progressing very well and largely in line with expectations. There was extensive discussion around women in sport, coaching, training, child safeguarding, and the continued rebuilding and development of motorcycle sport across the country.

Most importantly, the financial position of the organisation is becoming healthy again, particularly following the full insurance payment being made last month.

We also want to put an end to the negative rumours circulating on social media suggesting that there will be no road racing this year. That is simply not true. Four road races are confirmed to take place, and insurance has been fully paid in place.

Now more than ever, it’s important to get behind your club, support your riders, and support all of the events taking place throughout the season.
